Call to Artists! See below
Calling all artists for our October exhibit. We will be featuring Day of the Dead themed work, shrines, as well as Outsider Art.
This is not a juried exhibit but we ask that you submit pictures and/or info about your art or shrines by September 20th to email@example.com or call our office at 530-257-5222.
We welcome 3 entries per artist and there may be room for more. The gallery reserves the right to limit entries based on space availability. Please include dimensions and medium, as well as your information.
2-D artwork must be framed and ready to hang.
Outsider Art reflects talent and insight without formal training or affiliations with mainstream art institutions. We are particularly interested in showing work from artists who have not displayed their work publicly before.
The two completed quilts are now on display at the Cottage Street Gallery!
Claudia Dunlavy, English Learner Program Coordinator Susanville School District states: “Our School District is very pleased to be a recipient of the Arts Grant. We believe we can inject some positivity, hope, and sense of community with our planned projects for the EL Program students and their families. We have created two welcome quilts, with each family designing and creating their unique square using fabric paints, pens, crayons. The squares express their homeland culture, language, landscapes, ideals and symbols, conveying an expression of goodwill and a show of homeland pride, cultural identity and inclusiveness.”
